RESPECT Magazine Interviews Photographer Andre' Wright Jr...
Celebrity and fashion photographer Andre’ Wright Jr.
was a filmmaker until his skills gained from film school revealed a
promising career in photography. Now a regular at celebrity events, the
27-year-old photographs hip-hop artists, models, and has worked with
publications such as Mute magazine, VIBE, and XXL. He has shot impressive names such as Kanye West, Wiz Kalifa, Paris Hilton and Common all while image consulting for Color of Life Photography,
an image branding agency he founded in 2004 with friends from film
school. Wright has published three books of his work and is in the
process of releasing a fourth. They are available by ordering through his website.
Wright works with much creativity and experimentation, amassing a series of Polaroid shots and images captured on his iPhone 4. Full of passion, Wright approaches his work with an enthusiasm that makes it clear he truly loves what he does. Because, as Wright said, “imaging is everything.”
First I got a email then I got a phone call while eating lunch at Qdoba Mexican Grill. Now I'm in black in white....

Shooting with two lights...
Couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to photograph my little homie Cam at Studio on Market. I normally don't photograph children because I'm always shooting celebrities. What amazed me about this shoot was he kept asking for chicken wood pizza. He created his own kind of pizza so I told him if you give me 10 good frames then you can have pizza from extreme pizza. I decided to use two alien bee lights with a beauty dish on one and a soft box on the other. Below are the camera details so if you ever wanted to test it out be my guess. The shoot was a success and we had a blast. So if you interested in getting your little one photographed contact me.

LRG Co-Founder "Jonas Bevacqua" Passes Away...
Jonas Bevacqua, the co-founder of popular streetwear clothing
company, Lifted Research Group (LRG) was found dead in his Laguna Beach,
California home on Tuesday morning, according to the Associated Press.
Bevacqua, who was only 34-years-old, created LRG with business
partner Robert Wright in 1999. Wright confirmed the news on Twitter.
“[W]oke up at 8am to the worst news I’ve heard in my lifetime….my best
man,” he wrote.
As of press time the cause of his death is unknown. “There were no
obvious signs of the cause of death,” Jim Amormino, a spokesman for the
Orange County sheriff’s office, told the AP. An autopsy will take place tomorrow.
Extremely popular in the hip-hop world—models for the company
included Drake, B.o.B, 9th Wonder, The Alchemist, De La Soul, Freddie
Gibbs, Smif-N-Wessun and Pete Rock, among others —LRG reported annual
sales of $150 million by 2006.
COLOR OF LIFE sends out our deepest condolences to Bevacqua’s family and friends.
